DirecPath & DirecTV - directv satellite


My wife & I just downsized to a high rise. What should have been many years of maintenance free living is starting to look like it's going to be miserable.
I'm so mad that I don't even know where to begin.
Basically, DirecPath 's technician didn't install my equipment correctly, so I'm not getting the HD channels that I'm paying for. He was several hours late (7:00 pm arrival) for a "between 1 & 5" window. I had taken the day off in case he could come earlier. So that was a wasted day. Then DirecTV said that I was qualified for a free upgrade to their whole home Genie system and several other options and that they would send a technician to my home the floowing Saturday morning.Of course, I get a call from the technician saying that he can't come to my condo because I live in an MDU. Not knowing what an MDU was, I found out that that means Multiple Dwelling Unit and that DirecTV doesn't can't touch it. Short story long, I've bounced between DirecTV & DiecPath for several weeks now and it's an absolute fiasco. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to play the game.
WORD OF ADVICE: If you are looking at a condo/apartment that uses DirecPath, DON"T DO IT! Run the other way. No matter how much you fall in love with the property, if you use internet or like to watch TV, you will be unhappy on a consistant basis.

Agreed Im moving out in march and will never rent another apt without asking this up front Direcpath has been the worst headache so much so I cancelled internet and use my iphone as hotspot to avoid paying them $! Verizon is getting my $ for more data and Im still saving $! Of course, 3 weeks after I get rid of internet my bedroom Directv receiver goes outvon weekend and they dont come out then! 6 more months and Im done!
